Bye-bye Bottles

Today will be Kenai's first day without any bottles. He has moved on to the big boy sippy cups. He has been doing so well with them and he seems to like them better because he can get the milk (formula) out faster.
He is growing up so fast. I can't believe that my little baby (or should I say my big boy) is already ten months old. It seems just like yesterday Adam and I were driving to Abilene to meet this little guy.

Redneck Family Outting

Yesterday MawMaw, PawPaw, Man, and Taylor all drove in from Abilene to see Uncle Sammy who is in town for a few days. The whole family met up for lunch in Grapevine. We had a great time talking and laughing.

After lunch PawPaw and Taylor wanted to go to Bass Pro so we all piled in our cars and went with them. MawMaw showed Kenai the fish. He loved watching them! Taylor pretended to drive a boat...and wreck it...I guess thats what 9 year old boys do.

We enjoyed our time with everyone and wish they didn't have to leave but we will see most of them out in Abilene in a couple weeks.

1st Hair cut

Kenai got his first hair cut last night. It makes him look even more like a little boy than a baby. But I am sure that he is happy that he can finally see again!

As you can see he did so good!

He did try to grab for the sissors a few times.
And at times I don't think he fully trusted Michelle.
Michelle was good though...even gave him a comb to play with. However, I don't think she was expecting it to go straight to the mouth....so the comb didn't last to long.

The end result.... A very happy boy with a great hair cut!

Unexpected 4 Day Weekend!!!

The unexpected for day weekend started Thrusday 2/11/2010. We were expecting snow that day but it wasn't suppose to be all that bad until late Thrusday night. But it started snowing early Thursday morning and didn't stop until late that night. I watched the news all morning waiting for LISD to close (which means Kenai's school is closed) but nothing. That is nothing until I was already on the highway. Right after I got on the highway they anounced that Lewisville ISD was closed for the day. So Kenai and I took the first exit and headed home!

Kenai didn't think the snow was all that bad at first but then Lizzy started doing something (notice whats going on in the back ground) and I think thats why Kenai started crying...or it could be that he was cold because he didn't have snow pants on. But who buys snow pants in Texas for a 9th old???

The first day of staying home with my boy was great but then Thursday night they announced that LISD was going to be closed again on Friday. I guess they were afraid of the possible icing but wouldn't you wait until it actually happened before closing? Friday...Kenai was into everything! I tried my best to keep him entertained but I am not sure I was as exciting as school would have been...I think he missed his friends.

So we don't have pictures of where he was actually getting into EVERYTHING
but that would be because I was to busy trying to keep him out of EVERYTHING!!!

Friday afternoon it was time for mommy to get out of the house!!! So we went shopping...what else would we do? We went to Target and then to Ross. Kenai decided to take after his older cousin Taylor and suck on the shopping cart. It must have tasted good because once he found it he didn't want to give it up...not even for a sippy cup full of juice.

Sunday was valentines day and Kenai loved his ballon. He also learned to dring from a sippy cup with a straw. It was funny because earlier that day we went to lunch with a bunch of people from church and I was telling Lindsay how he just couldn't do it yet. I guess he wanted to prove his mommy wrong.

OH BOY

Kenai is definately all boy (as if there was any question about that). Last night while taking his bath he found a new toy. Yep...you know what that was. He was so curious about "it" and kept playing with "it". Not the first time he played with it but the first time I think he was really aware of what was going on. He makes his daddy so proud.

This weekend I got Kenai a new tooth brush...this one vibrates. He LOVES it! Eventhought....sometimes it doesn't quite make it into the mouth but a smaller hole just a little bit north.

Our Weekend

What a great weekend. Nothing spectacular happened but we were all finally heathly for once. Kenai and I went shopping Saturday morning...I had to give in to the urge. We were all ready to walk out the door besides I had to put Kenai's socks and shoes on...and....he spit up all over both of us. Fun times! Once we both got changed we finally made it to Homegoods. Only made it to the one store before Kenai was ready for his nap.

Sunday was my first time teaching the Infant & Toddler Class at Venture. I don't know that 1 & 2 year olds have ever made me so nervous. It went well and I must say that Kelli and I did an AMAZING job. Ok, maybe not AMAZING but we handled it.

After church Man and Taylor stopped by before heading back to Abilene. Kenai loves his cousin Taylor...and I am pretty sure that Taylor loves Kenai.

I got to smell all of the Scentsy's for my first time...and of course I had to buy some (sorry April...I will buy from you next time)! Got to keep the house smelling nice.

We wish they could have stayed longer and that Aunt Jennifer would have been able to come with them but there is always next time.

Incident Report

Well, what can I say...My boy is not the bully! I had to sign my first incident report at school yesterday and it was another kid beating up on my boy. Can you believe that...Who would pick on him.

The report: "Kenai was sitting on the floor reading a book like a big boy when one of his friends came up and wanted to read it too. Kenai go bit on the right arm just above the elbow. We comforted Kenai with lots of hugs."

Ok...so he might not have been the bad kid this time but I am sure his time will come. Lets just pray that its not anytime soon because I still like to think he's perfect!

Ever have one of those days that seem like they are never going to end? That was how my day went yesterday. I left the house at 6:30 AM and didn't return home until 7:30 PM. What finally put a smile on my face was how excited Kenai got when he saw me. Both of my boys were sitting on the couch and as soon as I walked in Kenai screamed with excitement. It's amazing how the little things in life make everything worth while.
